The company known as Yamazaki Tableware Inc. began as a family business in 1918 producing metal items crafted of copper, silver and brass. In 1932 they pioneered the production of stainless steel flatware, functioning as the factory of choice for many flatware companies. In 1980 they introduced their own line of 18/8 carefully designed stainless steel flatware under the "Yamazaki" brand.Hafnia flatware from Yamazaki has an unmistakably stylish flair that is nonetheless comfortable at all kinds of dining occasions. Each piece features a substantial handle with a narrow neck, arced profile, and raised tip. The working ends have a pleasing scoop design, and the whole shape is scaled down for a strikingly easy fit in the hand. Crafted from 18/8 stainless steel with a satiny finish, Hafnia is corrosion-resistant, safe in the dishwasher, and highly durable.
